Meet Alfie

UPDATE. We have managed to find a foster home for Alfie but he does still need a furever foster home.

Alfie came to us after he was noticed straying in the same area for six months. He was not neutered or chipped. His rescuer went to scan him. She followed all the usual procedures for stray cats: scanning, paper collar, asking neighbours, advertising on social media and no one came forward.

He was given a rescue space as a priority because he was drooling, sometimes an indication of dental problems.

Poor Alfie was taken to the vet. He needed 11 teeth removing. He also had abscesses on his gums. The poor boy must have been in agony  He was also found to be FIV positive.

He’s a lovely friendly boy, so must have had a home at some point.

Once again, another cat let down by irresponsible owners. All of his problems could have been prevented, if only he had have been neutered and chipped by his owner.

Alfie’s treatment has cost us £550.

He’s now pain free, probably for the first time in a long time. He’s also enjoying his food, lots of TLC and a cosy bed.

It’s ok Alfie, we’ll find you a good, loving home
